IA currently has no state laws governing private possession of exotic animals, which means that hybrids are not governed on a state level either – contact local government agencies for legality in your city/county/etc.

Only felines governed on a state level are native species governed through the DNR.

Wolf hybrids are governed like domestic dogs, with the exception of rabies. Currenlty IA does not approve any rabies vaccine for use on wolf hybrids, and as such, if one should bite an individual, it will be destroyed so that the head can be sent off for testing. Check with local authorities on current status of wolf hybrids and approval of rabies vaccines.
